What the Electro-Gun can do for your business.

Staff

Susan Bondy Fortuna − President

Susan has been with Etex Ltd since early 1988, originally as General Manager. When her father, D.J.Bondy, then President, became ill in 1991, she took over the leadership of the company.

She brought with her experience and knowledge in such industries as home mortgaging and financing; grocery/food chain development; plastic, metal and wood fabricating for the auto industry as well as her experience in woolen mill production and assisting at a Chartered Accountant−s firm during her years spent in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, Scotland.

Early on at Etex, she was honored to work with the original inventor of the Electro−Gun Treatment System, who educated her in everything from it’s original concept, experimentation, prototypes, working model and ultimately into the professional pest management industry.

In her words, "I am proud to be involved in a company that supplies a green, IPM, solution to the traditional termite treatments that are on the market. Our ongoing research, development and refinement of the Electro−Gun keeps it on the leading edge and at the forefront of the chemical−alternative termite treatment systems available. This was definitely a product ahead of it’s time, however, continual pressure from environmental groups, the GREEN movement, and added restrictions and regulations limiting chemicals and their usage with no end in sight, and the Electro−Gun Treatment System fits into a pest management firm’s array of tools as a viable alternative that can be used as a stand−alone treatment or in combination of other methods. The Electro−Gun has become a product that consumers actually ask for by name, so our level of commitment to maintain our high standards and quality product remains constant.

We will continue to expand and grow our market so that more consumers, if their need or preference is for little to no chemical usage, will be afforded the opportunity of a non-chemical termite treatment system. We plan to fill that need through the professional pest management companies. We are here to stay."

Mike Fortuna, Chief Operations Officer

Mike’s education in law and chemistry combined with more than 38 years of experience as a plant manager and quality control director for several large companies in the aerospace and chemical industries, is a perfect match with the Etex strategic plans for growth. His abilities and experience established a record of positive bottom line impact for those companies. Mike first offered his professional expertise to Etex on a consulting basis for five years, then in early 2009, Etex brought him on board as C.O.O. His background, education, and business unit management record makes him ideal as part of the Etex core team.

Concerning the Electro−Gun, Mike says, "The Electro−Gun is designed to be an effective treatment in areas where access is available. It was not designed to replace all other methods of control, but rather to work in harmony with them. It is great at reducing time on callbacks where only a spot treatment is required. And most importantly, in today’s economy, is that it allows the pest control company to offer a green alternative that can "get them in the door." The inspection may reveal that the infestation does not warrant the Electro-Gun’s use. We feel that at least the company has gotten in and now has the opportunity to take care of the problem for the customer. In those cases where the Electro−Gun is used, customers are happy that they and their loved ones were not exposed to anything perceived as harmful.

Since we have had considerable success using the Electro−Gun on wood-boring insects in Portugal, Tahiti, and Costa Rica, Fortuna also plans targeted expansion into other countries in Europe and South America.

"It’s one of the most effective and environmentally−friendly tools out there for rounding out a complete termite management program," he says, "and has really been well accepted by those who use it."

Ron Tomcek, International Liaison
Ron Tomcek has been involved with Etex Ltd. since early 1990. He is a retired U.S. Navy Master Chief, with an electronic, repair and teaching background. In addition, he has 38 years experience in the Real Estate industry in sales, inspections and management. His rich and varied background, together with his education and experience, gelled with the needs of Etex.

Early on in 1990, after being asked by a hotelier in the Caribbean on how to go about treating his termite infestations using the Electro−Gun, as described in a magazine advertisement he had found, Ron contacted Etex about the equipment. Understanding the product’s components and principals of operation, Ron was able to help control this termite infestation using the Electro−Gun Treatment System. He subsequently tackled an advanced powder−post beetle infestation in a nearby, exclusive, up−scale resort property. Over the years, Ron has seen many infestations in various countries that certainly could have used a pest control operator partnered up with the Electro−Gun Treatment System.

Ron is a true world traveler and has been to Central and South America, Mexico, Panama and the Canal Zone, the Caribbean, Bermuda, the Tahitian Islands, Europe, Scandinavia, Great Britain, Canada, Egypt, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Russia and too many more countries to list here.

He has been a direct liaison for Etex in Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Trinidad, Tahiti and Portugal and, during his travels, is constantly pursuing the possibilities in other countries. His previous electronic training coupled with his Real Estate industry experience and his association with Etex and the Electro−Gun provides a solid base for him to explain to pest management companies in various countries the value of the equipment as a pest control tool.
